About Us
The Grunow family has a long history in Lolo, Montana and they have been involved in the community for almost 35 years. Mike Grunow originally arrived in Missoula as a Montana Grizzly football recruit from the Detroit area in 1965. Mike believes that it was fate that brought him to Montana and he has never looked back. When Mike graduated form the U of M he married Judy, a Missoula native. Judy Grunow has been teaching at Lolo Grade School for over 25 years and with her gentle nature, integrity, and wonderful heart, is the cornerstone of the Grunow family. Judy is a Gonzaga University graduate and still maintains a strong loyalty to the “Zags”.
After a short stay in Seattle they returned to Montana and bought the original Lolo Grocery in 1973, their first business venture in Lolo. The family has also owned Mike's IGA, Lolo Liquor store, Lolo Laundromat as well as several businesses in Missoula. They have been married over 36 years and have three wonderful children, Megan, Matt and Mallory. All of the children have been involved in the family businesses even though they have pursued their own professional careers. Megan has completed her masters of architecture while Mallory is pursuing her teaching degree and hopes to own her own business in the future. Matt has a long history in the family businesses and is the co-owner of The Lolo Creek Steak House. Matt is married to Kasie Culver Grunow, a Montana native and graduate of the University of Montana.
Our family hopes that your experience here at The Lolo Creek Steak House is one of peaceful dining and pleasant service and we sincerely hope that you will dine with us again.
Thank you…
